FAQ's

What are 3D/4D Ultrasounds?

3D ultrasounds produce 3-dimensional images of the baby in flesh tones. The baby's features on 3D ultrasounds are much more noticable and distingushed than the gray-scale images of a 2D ultrasound. 4D allows us to provide the ability to see the 3-dimensional images in real time. Similar to a live video of the baby in the womb which allows us to capture actual movements.

What is HD iLive?
HD is an upgrade to 3D/4D technology. While the output intensity and frequency is the same as standard ultrasounds, the software works its magic to produce truly lifelike images of baby!
When can I get my 3D/4D Ultrasound?
We offer 3D/4D scans starting at 8 weeks on. The best time depends on what you are wanting to see. For early ultrasounds, the baby is pretty tiny and it would be a good time to get a glance of the whole body. Around 24-25 weeks, the face is starting to fill out and the image is more defined. Around 28-30 weeks, you are more likely to see what your littles face will look like at birth.
Will my insurance pay for my ultrasound?
No. My Little Blessing is an elective ultrasound facility, and insurance companies will not cover our services. Since this is a elective ultrasound that you are electing to receive we will have a liabilty wavier for you to complete prior to the scan.
Do I need a doctors order for my ultrasound?
No. My Little Blessing does not perform ultrasounds for diagnostic purposes, so there is no need for a doctor’s order. Since this is a elective ultrasound that you are electing to receive we will have a liabilty wavier for you to complete prior to the scan.
Are 3D/4D ultrasounds safe?
Yes. 3D/4D/HD ultrasounds use the same frequency and intensity as the 2D ultrasounds performed by your doctor. In the 35+ years of use, ultrasounds have not been associated with increased risk or side effects. My Little Blessing only uses well-maintained equipment to ensure the highest levels of safety.

What do I need to do prior to a ultrasound?

We require you to be under doctor, physician, or midwife care prior to us performing an elective ultrasound. You will need to know the expected due date provided by your provider.

Will I always get a good picture of my baby?

Usually, but not always. Sometimes if the baby is persistently looking face down, i.e. towards your spine it may be difficult to see the baby’s face. If this happens, a repeat scan will usually succeed because the baby has turned to a favorable position. We make no promises that the images will be similar to those you might have seen elsewhere or even from our studio, or that we can always meet everyone’s expectations. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen.
